Dr. Pamela Sandler is a licensed psychologist in private practice, offering therapy and consultation to children and families. Using a range of modalities, including play therapy, insight-oriented psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral interventions, Dr. Sandler supports parents and children in identifying maladaptive behaviors while developing effective strategies for making change. Dr. Sandler works closely with parents to understand the underlying challenges that may be interfering with the child or family's ability to feel successful.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Dr. Sandler was an early childhood educator. Dr. Sandler's work reflects her belief that understanding the family and school context is critical to the process of facilitating change for the individual child. Her training and experience offers a unique lens that allows her to communicate well with parents and teachers about how to best support children.
Dr. Sandler has worked in a variety of settings over the past 25 years, including schools, hospitals, and clinics. She holds a Psy.D. in Clinical Child/School Psychology from New York University and an MS in Early Childhood Special Education from Bank Street College of Education. She received her BA in Child Development from Tufts University.
